Appledore Revisited
Shoals Marine Laboratory on Appledore Island in The Isles of Shoals off the New Hampshire and Maine seacoast is home to the world’s foremost research program for undergraduate students pursuing their passion for biology and marine science. A place of rugged natural beauty, steeped in history from First Nation times, Appledore has long attracted artists, writers, and thinkers who now, under the Artists-in-Residence Program at Shoals, contribute their skills to the curriculum, sharpening students’ skills at observation and insight in their field and lab work.
