Camp Gardner Films produces documentary projects with heart, with depth, and with a direct approach all too uncommon today. Our independent productions include Sunlight Man, a personal documentary feature on Joel Gardner’s father, the late novelist John Gardner, author of Grendel and other works. We produce shorts for educational and nonprofit organizations, as well as businesses who share our vision and values.

Currently, Joel is at work on a new documentary feature, Back to the Land, which will introduce a visionary generation of young farmers in Vermont who bring heart, hard work, and unrelenting commitment to a sustainable future for agriculture and the health of the soil and forest. We will also meet those who arrived – disaffected with the culture and politics of their time – and took to the soil in the late ʼ60s and early ʼ70s.
